My Background

Where did I start?

I studied art to A-level, went to the Cumbria College of Art and Design and specilized in animation. I then went on to have a family and art was put aside for many years. After my personal circumstances changed I picked up my brushes again in 2014 on a boat trip around the Norfolk Broads. I keep this picture hanging in my lounge as since that painting I've continued to create art and in 2019 decided to take my art more seriously and became a full time artist. I've spent the last year experimenting with styles and materials and love some of the directions it has taken me in.

I'm passionate about environmental issues, My family, my two beautiful children, creating and experimenting. Throughout 2019 I've been experimenting with resin and combining it with acrylic painting and love some of the effects that can be created. I value authenticity and quality and feel this comes through in my work.

As I only started full time in 2019 I felt I needed to build up my portfolio and so didn’t get many events booked and due to Covid 2020 this has also hampered any exposure through events but I have had some success in securing exhibition space:-

March 2019 - Exhibition of my 'galactic' collection at the March hare Market Rasen -SOLD

May 2019 - Marshchaple Arts where I exhibited my 'Remembrance' collection.

June 2019 - Doncaster Emerging and Professional Arts Fair

Aug 2019 - Grainthorpe Arts Festival where my '4 seasons of the fens' won a prize and was highly commended.

September 2019 - Storton Estates 'Autumn Festival'

October/November 2019 - working with Micheal Courtney Productions renovating panto sets for major theatres up and down the country.

June 2020 - present Exhibition of my 'Remembrance' collection at the March Hare Market Rasen replacing my galactic collection after they sold.

July 2020 - present Exhibition at Kenwick golf club restaurant with 'Aquavita catering'

Oct 2020 - shortlisted for the 'Celebrating Our strength in our diversity' online exhibition

My aims for the business over the next few years is to build my following and find some collectors that would like to invest in my work. I care about how my pieces make people feel, I like my work to speak to the viewer and like to get people involved and interact with my work. When I am given a commission I like to involve the client all the way and consult them at all major points in the production process.
