My Background

Where did I start?

I studied art to A-level, went to the Cumbria College of Art and Design and specilized in animation. I then went on to have a family and art was put aside for many years. After my personal circumstances changed I picked up my brushes and in 2014 created my first acrylic piece on a boat trip around the Norfolk Broads, which can be seen in the top left corner of this page. I keep this picture hanging in my lounge as since that painting I've continued to create art and in 2019 decided to take my art more seriously and became a full time artist. I've spent the last year experimenting with styles and materials and love some of the directions it has taken me in.

I'm passionate about environmental issues, my family, my two beautiful children, I also enjoy creating and experimenting. Throughout 2019 I've been experimenting with resin and combining it with acrylic painting and love some of the effects that can be achieved (see my live edge table in my gallery). I value authenticity and quality and feel this comes through in my work.

I care about how my pieces make people feel, I like my work to speak to the viewer and like to get people involved and interact with my work. When I am given a commission I like to involve the client all the way and consult them at all major points in the production process (see my reviews page for customer feedback).
